WMUlogo_bwWomen's Missionary Union-WMU- is a mission organization for women who are "Called to Love."  Our mission is to inform and inspire the contemporary Baptist Woman to influence her world for Christ.  Unconditional love by loving God with heart, soul and mind.  Engage others in authentic relationships that will lead to a deeper level of involvement in missions, ministry, witness, giving and prayer.  Build bridges for the cause of Christ through a study of scripture that will lead to a deeper level of commitment to missions involvement. 
 
Watchword:  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.

           WMU Facts
 
1888- North Carolina was
one of the first states to
establish a Woman's
Mission Society.
 
1890-the name "Woman's 
Missionary Union" was adopted.
 
1911-Mount Home established a
Woman's Mission Society. 
 
By the end of 1998, WMU 
had helped lead the
contribution of nearly
$2.5 billion to Christmas
and Easter mission offerings.
 
WMU remains an auxiliary
to the Southern Baptist
Convention. The auxiliary
status also means that WMU
