Our Beliefs
MHBC is organized for the purpose of…
• advancing and promoting the worship of God through the reading and study of the Holy Bible—the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God;
• teaching and preaching the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ;
• conducting regular services of worship for the spiritual training, development, and benefit of each member; and
• winning souls to Jesus Christ.
MHBC believes the doctrines set forth in the New Testament—the foundations and practices of the Christian faith described in the Southern Baptist Faith and Message.
MHBC believes that
• “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23);
• “…the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23);
• “...God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8);
• “...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved.” (Romans 10:9);
• “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved,” (Romans 10:13)
MHBC believes
• in the virgin birth of Christ (Luke 1:34-35):
• that Jesus lived a perfect life (I Peter 2:22; 2 Cor. 5:21);
• that Jesus voluntarily gave Himself, the perfect Lamb of God (John 1:29), to be crucified for our sins (Gal. 2:20);
• that three days after Jesus died on the cross He rose from the dead (1 Cor. 15:4);
• and Jesus now sits at the right hand of God (Heb. 8:1; Heb. 10:12)
